WEEKLY FEATURED PRODUCTS
1. Dank – Papaya Cake Flower
Dank has been one of the most talked about names in the New York cannabis industry since day one. Their dedication to quality across the board is evident when you open each jar, each bag, each pre-roll tube. However, in an ocean of strains and terp profiles, some inevitably rise to the top, and their Papaya Cake is doing laps around others. It has a unique smell that is sweet up front but that melts into rich, buttery golden cake after notes that will have you wondering what you’ve been smoking lately. The smoke is dense and smooth and the high is solidly in the body but doesn’t lack in creativity or stimulation. This one is for the connoisseurs. Great in a joint or bowl but perfect in a blunt. (Hemp-based, obviously).
2. Northeastern Reserve – Kief Infused Pre-Rolls
When it comes to pre-rolls, we’ve seen them all and you probably have too. At least, that’s what we thought before we tried these Northeastern Reserve kief infused pre-rolls. These things truly are a thoughtfully curated product. From the hand-rolled quality to the premium flower and triple-sifted kief they used to infuse them, every aspect of the smoking experience is meticulously thought out and perfectly executed. Even the packaging is next level, including a large, luxurious carrying case for their five packs and sturdy glass tubes for their individual and two packs (Onesies and Twosies). The highs don’t disappoint, either. Sativas leaving us squarely in a creative, heady mindset and the indicas giving a nice, relaxing, sedative vibe. They really have it dialed in. Word is they’re in the process of putting together a mixed five pack so you can try them all in one! Keep checking our site for the drop so you can be one of the first to scoop!
3. MFNY – Gummies (assorted flavors)
Few names in the New York cannabis industry are as synonymous with quality as MFNY and that is for good reason. Their commitment to assuring every one of their products is as good as it can possibly be is something others in the market should study and try to recreate. Their flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, vapes, and edibles are all top of the line and consistent. Their gummies are fantastic, and they use high-end live resin and live rosin to infuse them, ensuring a fast-acting, potent product every time. Their flavors are delicious, and their packaging is full of useful information such as what strain was used to infuse each flavor as well as specific dosages and what kind of high you can expect after consumption. Some of our current flavors are the Strawberry Mango infused with their Honey Banana live resin and the Blueberry Raz that is infused with their Sunset Runtz live resin, but they’re all great!
LOCAL MUNCHIES HIGHLIGHT
We’ve heard you loud and clear, weekly readers. Your cries for a sweets-based local munchies highlight shall no longer go unanswered! This week, for those of you with a particularly demanding sweet tooth, we shout out another Astoria staple and iconic neighborhood eatery, Martha’s Country Bakery. Whether you’re looking for a professionally crafted and decorated cake for a special occasion or simply need to scratch that sweet itch we all get from time to time, Martha’s is the place for you. They make everything from cookies to pies and cakes to puddings and more, all right here on Ditmars in Astoria and they’re open late! A great place for a date or just to bring out of town friends to show off some of New York’s tastiest treats, Martha’s is serving up sweets with smiles to pastry loving patrons day in and day out. Some of our favorite bites are their tiramisu (you can’t really go wrong with this one) as well as their rainbow cookie (one of the best in the city, in our opinion). For the slightly more adventurous, they also offer a wide variety of cheesecake flavors that are stuffed, topped and so tasty you’ll forget whatever factory used to be known for that particular confection. They also serve a vast assortment of traditional Greek pastry and dessert options, even some savory pies and wraps as well! If you live in Astoria, you likely already know, but in case you haven’t discovered the palace of decadence that is Martha’s Country Bakery, all we can say is you’re welcome.
WHAT TO DO IN QUEENS THIS WEEK
1.Speed Friending Trivia – The Rabbit Hole (Tue. April 15, 7pm, Broadway, Astoria)
Have you ever heard of speed dating? You know. That awkward singles activity where you go around and have quick “dates” with as many people as possible attempting to also not spend the rest of their lives alone? Well, unlike that, speed “friending” sounds like something that could actually be fun. The idea is simple. A lot like speed dating, only it’s designed for people new to the area or neighborhood, or possibly people who have been too caught up with work to make meaningful friendships in their community. They all meet up to try and find like-minded people and make simple connections that may possibly develop into great friendships. Sounds like a good time, honestly. Only it may get awkward without some kind of activity to keep the conversation going. Luckily, the organizers of Speed Friending Trivia realized that a mixture of opening ice breakers, table shifting, and light-hearted competition is a great way for people to find potential friends! If you could use more friends or simply want to have a fun night out in Astoria, visit www.speedfriendingastoria.eventbrite.com to learn more!
2. Drag Bingo – Fredo’s Grand Cantina (Thur. April 17, 7-11pm, 31st St, Astoria)
I know what you’re thinking. “Bingo night?” Yes. Very much yes. This is not your average bingo night. Host Angelique Stevens brings all the glamour, grace, and comedic talent you expect from a typical drag show, but this is no typical drag show. Merging the art of drag and the excitement and thrill of gambling like an old person, Drag Bingo night at Fredo’s is an experience unlike any other! From hilarious and impressive performances to delicious food and drinks with pours that make Arnold Schwarzenegger look weak, this show really does have it all. Also, did we mention that on top of all that amazing entertainment, you also have the chance to walk away with awesome cash prizes? Yeah, this show has everything. If you want to learn more or just want to RSVP because you already know this is the show for you (great news, it’s weekly!) you can call (347) 997-3070 for more info!
3. 4/20 Variety Show – Grove 34 (Sun. 4/20, 8pm, 34th St, Astoria)
That’s right, fellow stoners. 4/20 is rapidly approaching and a lot of us are wondering what (aside from going to Terp Bros to get supplies) we’re going to do for the big day. Not to worry, we have you covered! Grove 34 is hosting a 4/20 variety show that features live music and comedy, food, drinks, and chill vibes to close out another 4/20 with style! We highly recommend grabbing something to smoke on here at Terp Bros, spending the day outside (weather permitting) with friends enjoying the springtime, and then heading over to Grove 34 for a night of tunes, laughs, and overall good times to end yet another 4/20 right!
Once again, thanks for joining us and reading through our weekly list of products and events we think will make your week ahead better and brighter!
