Hakimi, a pioneer and self-proclaimed “It Girl” in New York’s legal cannabis industry, unveiled Issa Vibe in September 2023. This was a significant milestone, as the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) had just given the green light for growers, product producers, and dispensaries to commence operations in the Empire State.
One of the first people to give her a chance was Jeremy Rivera, who had just opened up the first legal dispensary in Astoria, Terp Bros. Austin, the morning lead at Terp Bros, noted that the pens were one of the first products in the shop and a huge hit with new smokers.
“You are the vibe, and believe in yourself,” said Hakimi, explaining how she raised herself up to start Issa Vibe. “Now, I want everyone hitting an Issa vibe pen to know that whatever they want will happen if they go for it.”

Working with urbanXtracts in Orange County, Hakimi sought to bring a top-tier but level-headed high to tokers looking to elevate their vibe without getting overcooked. This idea grew into her line of 0.5 ml vapes, the Queen MJ and the King Jack. Respectively embossed with a Lioness and a Lion, these pens complement each other.
“Issa Vibe is THE vibe,” Austin, the morning lead at Terp Bros, said. “Now that they have more products coming in, they will keep popping off with customers.”
Issa Vibe’s vapes offer an entry-level way in, with Austin feeling that the pens complement each other. Austin notes that each pen has “…a floral taste, not super sweet, but a nice flowery profile.”
Now, “It’s Happening” once again. Hakimi is preparing to launch a new line of cannabis products to join the Queen MJ and the King Jack pens.
