02 · The Brief

What Plug Play means at the Terp Bros counter.

Plug Play (officially PLUGPLAY) is the pod-based vape system on the Terp Bros wall for Queens shoppers who want plug-and-go simplicity. The pitch is straightforward: one proprietary battery, swappable pods, no leaks, no learning curve. Walk in to our Astoria store, pick a pod that matches the strain or effect you're after, snap it onto the battery, and you're done. We currently stock Plug Play at our Astoria location at 36-10 Ditmars Blvd, so customers on the Ditmars side of Queens have closer access, Ozone Park shoppers will need to make the trip if they want this specific brand. Originally a Los Angeles-based company founded in 2017, Plug Play earned its place as one of California's top vape brands before expanding into other legal markets. The brand's edge is the closed-loop hardware-and-pod ecosystem, you commit to the battery, and your pod selection is locked into the Plug Play universe. Every Plug Play pod on our shelf has cleared NY OCM-required lab testing, including residual solvent screening, heavy metals, microbials, and cannabinoid potency.

Why it lives at Terp Bros

Astoria gets the dedicated pod-system traffic, and Plug Play fits that customer perfectly, someone who wants premium vape oil without the friction of cart compatibility issues. Pair the battery with a few pods from our case and you've got a self-contained kit that works the same way every time. We treat this as a hardware-plus-cannabis bundle: buy the battery once, restock pods on subsequent visits. Closer to the N/W line than our Cross Bay store, so it's the convenient stop for Ditmars and Astoria locals. If you're an Ozone Park regular and want a vape system without making the Astoria trip, PAX Era is the comparable pod option we stock at both locations.

Pod clicks onto the battery somewhere on the walk down 36th Street after leaving the Ditmars store, the connection is reliable on the first try because the system is closed-loop, the first pull lands before the next block and there's no fiddling with thread compatibility or burned coils. The lowest-friction vape experience in our entire accessory case, full stop.

Out of California, on the Queens shelf today.

Plug Play originated in 2017 in California. Like every brand on our wall, it earned its spot only after passing the New York OCM compliance lab and our buyer’s shelf review. What lands at Astoria and Ozone Park is the same formulation the brand makes everywhere, held to the same independent test we hold our Hudson Valley growers to.

05 · Frequently asked

What folks ask about Plug Play.

Q.01Is Plug Play sold in New York?

Yes. Plug Play is available in the legal New York market and at Terp Bros, specifically our Astoria store at 36-10 Ditmars Blvd. Ozone Park customers will need to come north to Astoria for this particular brand because we haven't stocked it at our Cross Bay location yet. All Plug Play inventory at our Astoria store has cleared NY OCM testing before sale, including the residual solvent and heavy metal screens that are critical for vape oils. Pod selection rotates as the brand ships new strains into the NY market, ask the Astoria budtenders what's currently in the case.

Q.02What categories does Plug Play make at Terp Bros?

Vapes and concentrates, specifically the closed-loop pod-and-battery vape system the brand is built around. The battery is the durable component (buy it once, use it across many pods) and the pods are the rotating SKU, with strain-specific oils filling out the lineup. Specific pod availability varies week to week as the brand ships new drops into NY, so check with our Astoria budtenders for what's currently in the case. If you don't already own a Plug Play battery, plan to buy one with your first pod purchase, the system is closed-loop, meaning Plug Play pods only work with the Plug Play battery, not with standard 510-thread devices.

Q.03Is Plug Play NY OCM compliant?

Yes. Every Plug Play pod on our Astoria shelf has cleared the NY OCM-required testing pipeline. That covers cannabinoid potency, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbials. The COA backs up what's printed on the label, and our budtenders can pull it on request before you buy. Because the brand operates a closed-loop pod system, the oil inside the pod is fully sealed before it reaches the store.

Q.04Plug Play vs other vape brands, what's the difference?

Plug Play is a closed-loop pod ecosystem, meaning the battery only works with Plug Play pods. The upside is consistency, every pod fits, every connection is reliable, no compatibility guessing. The downside is you're committed to the Plug Play oil lineup once you buy in. Compared to standard 510-thread cart brands like Olio, it's a different trade-off: simpler hardware in exchange for less cross-brand flexibility. Compared to PAX Era (which is also a pod-and-battery system and stocked at both our stores), Plug Play is Astoria-only at the moment, so location convenience may decide the question for you.
