Sure, we tend to try and highlight lesser known spots or places with more adventurous food options in our newsletters. However, we're people and we know that at least most of you are people too. People sometimes just need a comfort meal. For New Yorkers (a lot of them, at least), that means Italian food. If you happen to be one of the many people that hear "soft warm hug" when you read the words Sunday Sauce, then Donato's may be the place for you. From pizza to pasta to Italian classics, they cook a lot of amazing dishes and not one has been a dud. Great people, amazing food, and a cozy atmosphere. What else could you ask for? Well, sure. Alright, you caught us. This isn't the first time we've highlighted St. James Deli as a local eatery in our newsletters. If anything, that should just tell you how good the food there actually is. When we say they may make the best tacos in the city, we don't say it lightly. If you have not tried the "Quesadillas" from St. James, you are missing out. For years, we thought great Mexican food was the hardest cuisine to find in NYC, but we were just looking in the wrong places. We needed to branch out to the delis to find the best. Having a hard time believing us? Hurtful, but we understand. Go try them for yourself and you'll understand. Let them know we sent you!
