Banana Kush is an indica-leaning cross of Ghost OG and Skunk Haze that smells of ripe banana and tropical fruit over light earthy hash, testing at 18-25% THC. Limonene, caryophyllene and myrcene lead its terpene stack. Onset is medium, around 5 minutes inhaled, and the feel is balanced indica with a mild cerebral lift.
A Fruit-Forward Indica With a Mild Cerebral Lift
Banana Kush opens with ripe banana and sweet tropical fruit, and the earthy hash only shows up underneath.
The reported feel is a balanced indica with a mild cerebral lift. Inhaled, the experience lasts 2 to 4 hours. The listed use cases are an evening social and an upbeat evening wind-down.
The 18-25% THC range is wide, so two batches can feel different. The certificate of analysis on the package tells you which end of the range you are holding.
The Three Terpenes Behind the Banana Note
Limonene
Limonene is listed first and is often described as uplifting and clear-headed, a daytime-friendly note.
Caryophyllene
Caryophyllene adds the peppery warmth in the background of the smoke and a grounded, body-centered feel.
Myrcene
Myrcene rounds out the stack with the heavier, classic indica character, though it sits third rather than first.
Ghost OG Meets Skunk Haze
Banana Kush comes from Ghost OG crossed with Skunk Haze and is documented as a California strain from the late 2000s, named for its genuine banana terpene profile. It is associated with the Cookies-era West Coast. It flowers in 8-9 weeks.
Bubba Kush, Master Kush, Northern Lights and Skywalker OG Beside Banana Kush
If the banana-fruit nose is not what you are after, Bubba Kush swaps it for sweet coffee and dark chocolate at 17-22% THC, with myrcene in the lead. Master Kush is the sandalwood-and-hash option at 16-22%. Northern Lights goes toward sweet pine and light sandalwood at 16-21%, and Skywalker OG is the strongest of the group at 20-26% THC, with a diesel and pine nose.
