This 4/20 page rounds up what the Terp Bros newsletters listed for the holiday at our Astoria and Ozone Park dispensaries: two windows of in-store specials before April 20, three new arrivals after it, and the usual origin story of 4/20. It is a text roundup of newsletter listings, not a photo gallery. Check the live menu for what is running now.

What Did the Post 4/20 Newsletter Highlight?
The week after the holiday, our Post 4/20 Pickup newsletter asked whether you had already smoked through everything you scooped on 4/20. For anyone restocking, it highlighted three arrivals:
- Off Hours Chicken & Waffles gummies, at both locations
- A new batch of Doobie Labs 1/8ths, at both locations
- Synergy Piff Haze 1/8ths, a pick for sativa lovers
Where Does 4/20 Come From?
The usual origin story starts in 1971 with five high school students in San Rafael, California, who called themselves the Waldos. According to Wikipedia, they designated the Louis Pasteur statue on the grounds of San Rafael High School as their meeting place and 4:20 p.m. as the time, as part of a search for an abandoned cannabis crop based on a treasure map made by the grower.
High Times later carried the story to a national audience. Its first mention of 4:20 smoking and a 4/20 holiday appeared in May 1991 and wrongly tied the term to a police code. The magazine connected it to the Waldos in December 1998. The Wikipedia entry on 420 culture) collects the sources behind each version.
Today 420 refers to cannabis use around 4:20 p.m. and to the annual April 20 celebrations, protests and advocacy that grew out of that slang.
