All we're really trying to say is maybe it's time to start thinking about stocking up on supplies for winter. And no, we aren't talking about salted meats, animal pelts, and dry wood for burning. Keeping the bulk buying train rolling, up next we have the new flower from Zips! They recently dropped three new strains at our Ozone Park shop and we could not be more excited for you to try them out! They have two new half ounces and a new ounce as well! The half ounces are Jack Herer (Sativa) and Gary Payton (Hybrid). The full ounce available currently (and the strongest of the three strains) is the Guava Gelato (Hybrid).

The Jack Herer is a classic Jack. Pure sativa vibes. Super piney and gassy with a citrus funk that is unmistakeable. Gary Payton smells nothing like the guy it happens to be named after, thankfully. Well, we don't exactly know that for sure. We haven't actually smelled him. Maybe he smells like earthy funk with sweet cream and tart fruity notes. If so, we bet he's a pretty popular guy! Finally, the Guava Gelato ounce. This stuff has a fruity funk that will make you take a second (and possibly third) sniff right off the bat. Deep funk that almost rivals a GMO, balanced by a sweet and tart fruity note that overwhelms the palate on the exhale. Flavor chasers, you've been warned. The wizard is back! That's right, Wizard Trees is back at both Terp Bros locations! Flower AND prerolls so no matter your budget or preference, there is a rounded purple jar just for you! Family Corner Restaurant (Astoria)

Have you ever wanted to step back in time and grab a diner meal from a classic greasy spoon? Unfortunately, a lot of the classic diners that we came to know and love both by patronizing them and seeing them in classic movies and TV have all but died out. The shiny metallic exteriors, the vinyl red booth seating, the friendly but overworked staff that is genuinely pumping out delicious food at a pace that would make a modern Waffle House employee's head spin. Fortunately, Family Corner has consistently been pumping out amazing diner food with a greek twist for years!

Located a short five to ten minute walk down 31st from Terp Bros Astoria, all the red vinyl booths and amazing staff awaits you in a diner built into the corner of a residential apartment building. One of our budtenders lives close by and wouldn't shut up about them, so we finally gave them a shot. He was correct. You can get excellent burgers, fries, and classic diner staples as well as a daily rotating special hot case serving things like souvlaki, pot roast, etc. You honestly can't go wrong no matter what you choose. Make sure to chat it up with the staff while you're there. They all genuinely love what they do and make you feel right at home. Which is nice, because the place is tiny. However, some of the greatest things come in small packages, and this restaurant is no exception! Make sure to let them know we sent you when you try them out!

GanBlaze Chinese BBQ (Flushing)

Have you ever tried Chinese BBQ? Well, if you haven't tried it at GanBlaze, then no you haven't. When we tell you this is likely one of the most unique places to eat in all of New York, we aren't lying. This place is amazing! As far as the food, it's a fairly straightforward Chinese BBQ experience. The grill is automated, so you basically just set it and forget it. Shouts out to Ronco Rotisserie! The skewers turn themselves in a satisfying manner. Sometimes, a server will set a little shrimp atop your skewers and it rides along the top as they slowly turn one quarter turn at a time. Outside the food, this place is a madhouse. They have a giant claw machine apparatus on the ceiling, and for every ten skewers you purchase, you get entered to win a plushie toy that descends slowly from the rafters just for you.

They also have some of the most fun and unique drink options available in the city. Some come with little "pills" with color changing sugar mix-ins, even a fake toothbrush in one that acts as a mixer and straw. Honestly, if you're looking for a dining experience that makes you feel like you aren't in a restaurant at all, GanBlaze is the place to visit. Located inside the Tangram Mall in Flushing, so if you don't get your fill there (you will), there are countless other food options close by to choose from. Make sure you let them know where you heard about them when you stop by!

Small Business Spotlight - The Entrepreneur Space

We're sure you have a favorite small local restaurant that you gate keep so as to not have it get flooded with randoms. What if we told you that all of those small local restaurants started as an idea? Well, obviously. However, sometimes when all you know about a place is your favorite dish on the menu when you visit, it's sometimes difficult to imagine how they got started. For restaurants and food brands specifically, the answer is more often than not an incubator. Much like an incubator in a hospital is to aid a newborn in specific needs to survive and thrive, a food incubator does the same but for up and coming and/or emerging food brands and restaurants.
