Welcome back, Terp Folks! The time is upon us, and that time is sometime Tuesday morning we think. We’re not entirely sure. We also don’t exactly know why we say ‘we’ when it’s just one person writing this. Supposedly it promotes a team-based image, which we’re told is important. Regardless, what’s important to _us_ is you! And for that reason, we’re back again like every Tuesday with another list of what to do, where to shop, and what products here at Terp Bros are fire (spoiler alert: It’s all of them). Thanks so much for coming back week after week, trying our highlighted products, and visiting the businesses and restaurants we shout out! We’re all about community here at Terp Bros, and that means sharing the beautiful parts of Queens, big and small, with those most important to us. You!

Sure, it’s _meant_ to be broken into smaller pieces, but for those with a higher tolerance, the small chocolates can easily be eaten whole or broken into slightly bigger pieces for a better effect! Available in hybrid, sativa with added CBG, and Indica with added CBN for help sleeping. No matter what you need out of your chocolate, GRON and Terp Bros Ozone Park have you covered!

WEEKLY RESTAURANT HIGHLIGHT(S)
My Mother’s Place - Fine Italian Ices (Ozone Park)
Listen up, Queens residents. The temperature officially got back up into the sixties recently. You know what that means. It’s time to break out the summer fits, get beach ready, and start prepping for sunny days early. Part of that training needs to include reintroducing your palate to summer flavors. What better way to do that than with a delicious, cold, flavorful Italian Ice? We’ll answer our own question. Nothing. If you happen to be at or near our Ozone Park location, take a short ride over to My Mother’s Place. Oh no, the name of the restaurant made us break our ‘we’ voice. Oh well, we’ll survive. Together. But why simply survive when you could thrive with an Italian Ice in dozens of potential flavors like fruits, sodas, and desserts. They also serve cream ices that are mixed with soft serve as well as special flavors like strawberry cheesecake, chunky monkey, and Reese’s peanut butter and chocolate. They even have sugar free options! No matter your frozen treat palate, this place is sure to have something to help you prepare for the looming high temperatures and sweaty, humid days soon to come.
Comfortland (again) Astoria
We’re gonna level with you. This section is typically for highlighting new or unique restaurants that you might not have heard of yet. However, this week we’re highlighting a spot that has already graced our newsletter once or twice before. Comfortland is an absolute unicorn of a restaurant here in Astoria (and LES) that has something for literally everyone! Their classics like the Freaky Friday (a double stacked fried chicken sandwich) and the Shogun Assassin (beef bulgogi with Gruyère cheese, arugula, and hot honey) are out of this world. They also serve up fantastic sides like homemade Mac and cheese, parmesan truffle tots, and chopped cheese empanadas. They even have a vegan section with versions of their classic dishes so nobody is left out.
The reason we’re highlighting them again today is their rotating specials. At least twice a week they offer limited time sandwiches, sides, desserts, and unique creations that make you wonder if you’ve even been eating food until you found them. As we’re writing this, their current lineup of specials includes chicken pot pie tots (use your imagination), Nashville hot chicken Mac and cheese, a fried shrimp sandwich, and a waffle ironed grilled cheese with homemade tomato soup. Yeah, they go that hard. And by the time you read this, they’ll likely have added or changed those specials at least once or twice. Got flavor fatigue? Not here, you don’t. There is always something new and fun on their menu to try out!
Their desserts also don’t miss with hits like Cap’n Crunch chocolate chip cookies, Oreo Nutella bread pudding, and homemade German Chocolate cake pop tarts. No matter your preference when it comes to food, if you like spicy, sweet, savory, they have multiple things we guarantee you’ll love. If you live in Astoria and haven’t checked them out yet, or if you’re just visiting the neighborhood to grab some goodies from us here at Terp Bros Astoria, make sure to also stop by Comfortland to get some amazing food to help with your inevitable munchies. Make sure you tell them we sent you!
Small Business Spotlight(s)
This week, instead of spotlighting a single small business, we figured we’d kill two birds with one stone and highlight a number of small businesses you should check out right in your own backyard. Sure, they aren’t in Ozone Park or Astoria, but they are all amazing spots serving up delicious traditional Chinese food all within a few blocks of each other. Of course we’re talking about another Flushing food crawl! Chinatown in Manhattan is great, and there is no lack of amazing options to eat there. Super Taste for their unique fried dumplings, Wah Fung #1 for their fantastic roast pork over rice, or Noodle Village for tongue tingling rice rolls with peanut and hoisin sauce. However, true foodies know that NYC’s real Chinatown is right here in Queens! Flushing is the biggest, most diverse neighborhood in the country for amazing and traditional Chinese food. There are hundreds if not thousands of places to choose from and for that reason, picking where to go might seem a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’ve decided to curate your next food crawl for you with painstaking precision.
Zhu Ji Dumpling Stall

A true hole in the wall (that also has a door) serving up some of the best, juiciest dumplings with ground pork, ginger, and loads of fresh greens we have ever had. They serve tons of different item and everything is fantastic and insanely cheap, but to save room, we suggest trying their dumplings first, then moving on to spot number two.
Ji You Braised Foods
Sure, the name of this place implies we might be suggesting some of their slow braised meat dishes, and we are. Only secondarily, after we highlight the main attraction of this spot, their peanut butter noodles. Thin, flat wheat noodles (made in house every day) coated with savory peanut butter and sweet dark soy sauce, then topped with thinly sliced green onions. Simple, cheap, delicious.
Zheng Xin Fried Chicken

The only chain on this mini list, but one that is lesser known and serving up flavors you _need_ to try. They’re famous for their fried chicken steak. It’s basically a big chicken breast pounded thin, breaded, deep fried, optionally tossed and coated with dried Chinese spices, then chopped into bite sized pieces and served with a big toothpick as a utensil. Simple crispy, spicy, juicy chicken. Can you really ask for more?
Fu Yuan Rice Roll

What’s that? You said yes, you _can_ ask for more? No problem, we got you. Fu Yuan serves up traditional steamed rice rolls with delicious fillings and sauces. A simple Chinese breakfast dish that can be enjoyed any time of day with stretchy flat rice roll noodles that are perfect for soaking up sauces and juices from perfectly cooked meats. You can dress them however you want, but we recommend getting the pork filling, and adding peanut, soy sauce, and sriracha for a savory sweet and spicy flavor bomb!
Lee & Bai Buns

Finally, a Chinese bakery. These can be found all over Flushing and all serve ready to eat Chinese baked buns with sweet and savory fillings. From hot dog and scallion to sweet red bean paste, no matter what kind of Chinese buns you’re looking for, Lee & Bai has what you need. They also serve amazing desserts like crepe cakes, mochi, and so much more!
This list of five amazing Flushing food spots barely scratches the surface of what there is to discover in Flushing’s Chinatown. If you have a free day coming up with no plans or you’re just looking to find a new favorite Chinese food spot, head to Flushing and simply walk around. These places are great and we highly recommend them, but part of the fun of a food crawl is finding your own spots. Let your stomach, eyes, and nose guide you. They’re rarely wrong!
Well, here we are again, Terp fam. Another Tuesday has come and gone, and another list of fun spots to eat and shop and amazing products here on the shelves at Terp Bros (Astoria and Ozone Park) along with it. However, there’s no need to be sad! We’ll be right back here next Tuesday like always with another packed list of food and fun happening here in Queens! Thanks so much for reading, and we’ll see you again next Tuesday!
