A jetty is a small, solid piece of construction placed within a moving body of water to aid in controlling currents and erosion. There’s your fun fact for the day. Lucky for you, we aren’t here to talk about erosion controlling construction today. Sorry, coastal and marine structural engineers. We got you next week (not really). Instead, we’re here to talk about Jetty brand cartridges and all in one vapes! The Jetty brand has really made a name for itself in the New York cannabis market, and it’s easy to see why. From packaging to potency, their products are top of the line across the board. Their one gram cartridges are available at both Terp Bros locations in a variety of strains and effects. They come with a luxurious wooden tip, and flavors that simply do not quit! Don’t have a battery or the wherewithal to not misplace one? Jetty also has you covered there. Their full gram disposable vapes pack a punch with a smooth draw and flavors that will have you going back for a second (and maybe even a third) hit. Be careful, they’re potent and powerful. Also available in a variety of strains and effects so there is one for you or the stoner on the go in your life! Head to Terp Bros (either location) to get your Jetty carts or disposables today!
WEEKLY RESTAURANT HIGHLIGHT(S)
Cap’t Loui - Cajun Seafood Boil (Ozone Park)
Few things in life fill the cracks in our hearts like heavily seasoned Cajun butter coating assorted seafood items in a large plastic bag. A seafood boil truly is one of life’s greatest simple pleasures. Crab legs, shrimp, scallops, lobster, potatoes, corn, and that sweet, spicy nectar of the gods slathered all over it. For the uninitiated, prepare both your taste buds and an outfit you don’t mind ruining. The bib you get at the restaurant will be putting in a full day’s work, but is only enough for seafood boil enthusiasts as seasoned as the Cajun butter at Cap’t Loui. They also serve amazing pasta dishes, fried seafood options, as well as delicious, southern inspired desserts like beignets covered in enough powdered sugar to make Tony Montana look twice. At the end of the day, there are only so many things in this life that are truly important. Family, health, love, and seasoned butter. All can be found at Capt Loui in Ozone Park! Make sure you tell them Terp Bros sent you!
Sweet Afton (Astoria)
Sometimes a bar has the potential to serve even better food than the restaurants in the same neighborhood. Here in Astoria, bars serving up tasty snacks have a lot of restaurant competition, so to stand out from the crowd specifically for food, a bar must be doing something right. At least in the kitchen. Sweet Afton is that kind of bar. It’s more of a bar than a restaurant, at least until you take your first bite. Whether you’re there for brunch, dinner, or for a late night snack after a few too many at the bar, you’ll be shocked at the quality of food this neighborhood bar is serving up!
For brunch, we recommend their breakfast nachos. For those of you too high to fully comprehend what we just said, we’ll say it again. This place serves breakfast… nachos… We’ll give you a second to pick up the shattered pieces of what you thought you knew about brunch. All set? Cool. As for dinner or the aforementioned late night meal, we highly suggest trying their burger. It’s been touted as the best in Astoria by many food blogs and listicles and for good reason. It slaps. Plan and simple. Great ingredients cooked to perfection. Feeling hungry yet? Now you know where to go. Tell them Terp Bros said what’s up.
Small Business Spotlight(s)
Citi Treasures Thrift Store (Jamaica)

A thrift store is a thrift store, right? Wrong. Citi Treasures is so much more than that. It’s the embodiment of the American dream. No, not the dream to become rich and famous. We’re talking about the _real_ American dream. To come here from another country to try and build a better life for yourself. That is something that can be seen, heard, and felt in abundance at this thrift store, and we think that makes this place more than deserving of both a shoutout and a visit. The owner and proprietor, Chris McLean came to America from Jamaica, and got his start working at various flea markets throughout the city. His personality and ability to build a deep and meaningful connection with the people he sold his items to inspired him to open Citi Treasures, a community hub in Jamaica that sells home goods, appliances, antiques, and so much more. If you need it, Chris and Citi Treasures have it! Along his journey building the Citi Treasures community, Chris developed a love of art and began making abstract pieces of his own. These can be seen throughout the store and are available for purchase as well. His art is amazing, the store is fantastic, and in case that wasn’t enough, Chris himself is an absolute treasure. Do yourself a favor and check him out at Citi Treasures and grab yourself some great items at amazing prices! They also hold a flea market style sale every Saturday as a nod to how Chris got his start! Tell him we sent you!
Little Mexico Convenience Store (Astoria)

When it comes to specialty food stores, Astoria has more than its fair share. From Greek to Egyptian, there are so many authentic food options from even more countries. One country that may be slightly underrepresented in the Astoria specialty food scene is Mexico. At least, it might seem that way if you don’t know where to look. Little Mexico is a tiny convenience store on Astoria Blvd that has everything Mexican food related that you could ever imagine. From fresh and dried chiles, to Mexican candy and frozen treats, this little store has all you could ever need to make some amazing Mexican food right at home! Not in the mood to cook or just don’t have the time? Not to worry! They also serve delicious tacos out of the back on freshly made tortillas with perfectly spiced meats and tasty, homemade sauces. Truly authentic Mexican cuisine hiding in the back of an unassuming convenience store. A real hidden gem for flavor chasers and taco lovers alike!
