Medford had 24,247 residents in the 2020 census, and it covers 10.8 square miles of land. Its recorded history opens with the Long Island Rail Road. In 1843 the LIRR opened Medford station in a flat wilderness inside the Long Island Central Pine Barrens, linking it to the Patchogue Stage Road, which ran from Patchogue up to Port Jefferson, and a post office followed.
In 1907 the railroad set up the Medford Prosperity Farm, officially Experimental Station #2, on 80 acres to prove that crops could grow in the Pine Barrens. Theodore Roosevelt came to see it in August 1910. His car stuck in the mud on a trail between Medford and Wading River, and he was said to have taken a flying leap to get out.
Through the middle and later decades of the 20th century, builders were adding new neighborhoods across Medford. Eagle Estates went up along Horse Block Road east of Route 112 in 1963, though plans for it date back to the 1930s. The LIE cut through Medford in 1970, and The Pines was established in the 1970s.
Several busy roads cross the hamlet: Horseblock Road (County Road 16), Route 112, Patchogue-Yaphank Road and Sills Road (County Road 101), and the Long Island Expressway. The LIRR has served Medford station since the hamlet was created, and Suffolk County Transit route 55 runs between Patchogue station and Port Jefferson. Medford station is about 0.7 miles away on our list, with Bellport station about 3.8 miles away.
The order leaves Terp Bros Ozone Park, 135-26 Cross Bay Blvd, and covers about 46.0 miles in a straight line to reach Medford. ZIP 11763 is served with a $200 minimum. When the total passes $100, the delivery charge is waived. Payment is collected through Dutchie Pay at checkout, and the driver looks over a valid government ID to verify you are 21 or older. Drop-offs are limited to residences and private businesses, so a trail in the Pine Barrens, a park, a beach or a car does not qualify. Check the Ozone Park store page, the live menu and the cannabis delivery overview.
If you are 21 or older, the carry limit is 3 ounces of cannabis plus 24 grams of concentrate. New York does not allow use in a vehicle or in any place where tobacco smoking is prohibited, which includes a car parked off Route 112.
