Sea Cliff is a village in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, and it belongs to the greater Glen Cove area. The 2020 census counted 5,062 residents. The village incorporated in 1883, when the growing community wanted home rule and tighter control over local affairs.
In the late nineteenth century Sea Cliff worked as a resort town, and many of its houses started life as summer homes. The public library first opened in 1894, and in 1927 it became an agency run by the village.
